  • An Overview of Force

Blog Pic The term force can be defined as an ability to change the size, shape or motion of any tangible object. It is a vector quantity and has both direction and magnitude. In terms of physics, it can be defined as an influence which can cause to change an object in terms of movement, direction or geometrical construction. Thus, we can say that it can change the mass of an object to modulate its velocity with an intention to accelerate the object. Positively, it has both magnitude and direction. As a result of it, the force can be, thus, converted into a vector quantity.
Generally, force measurement is done in the SI unit and represented by the symbol of F. In the SI system, the units in which the its eminence is measured is called Newtons and in pounds in the British or American system.
We can categorize the basic forces in three divisions. It includes gravitational, magnetic and nuclear force. However, the weakest of all the above mentioned classes, the gravitational one is the weakest. Also, it is the easiest of all to observe as it acts on all the matters as well as objects. Although its capability decreases with an increase in the distance, it is always measurable.
