Launched in early 1990’s
PowerPoint is a slide-based presentation program of Microsoft that was
developed to help professionals as well as academicians to deliver projects and
idea in a very attractive and beautiful way. But with time the benefits of
PowerPoint became a debate. The long and tedious presentations of the
presenters with overburdened features have made PowerPoint the ‘Hell’.
Polish your Presentation Skills
Most often due to the several
facilities of the PowerPoint people do not prepare their presentation and
insert a lot much information in the slides, making it piled with text,
graphics, sound, movies, and other objects. To be a good presenter and to save
people from the PowerPoint Death it is very necessary for a person to understand
the basic requirement.
Follow the WRD rule:- Write, Rehearse and Deliver
Write- That means creating Slides!
·
While scaling your work onto the slides,
summarize your work first.
· Categorize your project with headings and
sub-headings and insert the content point wise so that it look appealing.
· Insert useful images, as until and unless your
presentation is attention grabbing no one will see your work or listen to your
words.
· Avoid too much information, colors, graphics and
motion on the screen as it just irritates the audience.
Rehearse- Displaying the PowerPoint slide without the contribution
of verbal efforts show your lack of interest and passion for the topic. So
instead of covering your lack of preparation with PPT do rehearse well and practice
what you want people to understand.
Deliver- Take care of your ‘3 C’- confidence, clarity and
conviction when it comes to the deliver your work. Your ability to communicate
will undoubtedly increase the impact of your presentation and will help you
stand as a pro.
